Combine or harvester (or combine harvester) is machine for harvesting grains, oil seed rape, soy beans, beans, peas, etc. Process of harvesting is maid from tree part: cutting, transaction and final separation of grain from straw. This process was done by hands to the end of 19th century. Invention of steam engine was the beginning of mechanization the harvesting process.
First combines were trailed by the horses and powered by the steam engines which were also trailed by the horses. Later, still made from wood, combines were powered by the tractors. In the middle of 20th century combines were towed by tractors, and later they were replaced by the self-driven combines. Modern combines have all functions necessary for harvesting: mowing, transaction and purification. By using combine, harvesting speed was multiplied, from few kilos per hour by using hand to 50 tons per hour.
Except harvesting quantity, quality is also weary important. Quality means minimizing of grain losses and grain fracture and height grain clarity.
Engine power of today combines reach 400 HP. Driving power is hydraulic, mower and machine for purification are mechanically driven
